Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful guidance for Yur Home™ — the iOS home inventory app coming soon to the App Store.
Core Help
What is Yur Home™?
Yur Home is an iOS app that helps you photograph household items and rooms, then build a searchable home inventory with AI-assisted item details.
When will Yur Home be available?
Yur Home is coming soon to the App Store. Check this support site for updates, or send us a note from the Home page if you’d like to hear when it launches.
Does Yur Home use Apple Intelligence?
Yes. On supported iPhones and iPads running iOS 26 or later, Yur Home can analyze photos on your device with Apple Intelligence — no OpenAI API key required.
In Settings → Photo Analysis, choose Automatic (recommended) to use Apple Intelligence when available, Apple Intelligence to require on-device analysis, or OpenAI with your own API key.
If Apple Intelligence is unavailable, Automatic falls back to OpenAI when you have saved a key, otherwise to on-device Vision assist.
Do I need an OpenAI API key?
No. Apple Intelligence and on-device Vision assist work without one. OpenAI is optional if you prefer to use your own OpenAI account, or when Apple Intelligence is not available on your device.
See our OpenAI Setup guide for step-by-step key creation on the OpenAI platform.
How does OpenAI analysis work?
If you add your own OpenAI API key in Settings, Yur Home can send photos to OpenAI to suggest item names, categories, rooms, and estimated replacement values. You review and edit every suggestion before saving. Usage is billed by OpenAI directly — not through the App Store.
Where is my inventory stored?
By default, inventory data and photos are stored locally on your device. You can optionally enable iCloud Documents sync to keep records across your Apple devices.
Can I export my inventory?
Yes. Yur Home supports exporting your inventory as CSV, PDF, ZIP, plain text, or Reminders from the Inventory tab — useful for insurance records, sharing, or backup.
What should I do if something isn’t working?
Try closing and reopening the app first. If the issue continues, send us a message from the Home page with your device model, iOS version, analysis mode in Settings, and what happened.
How quickly will support respond?
We review support requests regularly and prioritize account access and data-related issues first.
